Friday
In the morning, P and I made a quick grocery store run. Because of the cream cheese shortage, I’m basically hoarding cream cheese at this point because I use it every day. But we grabbed that along with a couple of other things we were low on.
We mixed it up a bit with a fun afternoon with Grandma! P & I met my mom in her neighborhood to have lunch. I don’t know what it is about eating in a restaurant, but P eats SO well outside the house. She put away half a burger and most of a fruit cup while we were there.
Afterward, we took P to my mom’s community pool with has a kiddie pool and water spout area. P absolutely LOVED it. We lost track of time so we wound up putting her down for a nap at my mom’s house before heading home.
When we got home after her nap, we found that Zach had put together the water table she’d received for her birthday, so the water play continued!
I came inside and made dinner from my favorite cooking blog, Half Baked Harvest.
Saturday
In the morning, I completed the last run of the Peloton “You Can Run” Treadmill program. The goal of the program is to run 30 minutes straight and it helped me achieve that goal! It was a really solid way to start my day.
We got a few errands checked off of our list and went out to lunch as a family. P ate all of the snacks I keep in my diaper bag for her as well as most of her meal, so we speculated that she is going through a growth spurt right now.
Later, yesterday’s water play continued! Using our blender (which was a wedding gift) for the first time, I made P a smoothie, adding spinach to it to get some iron into her.
P and I rounded out the evening with a little walk.
After the baby was in bed, Zach picked up some ice cream for the two of us and we settled in to watch Marry Me on Peacock. It was a little predictable, but I thought it was a really cute rom-com overall.
Sunday
In the morning, while P was down for her first nap, I made some meatballs using ground beef, spinach, egg, and some Ezekiel bread, which are all high in iron. P came back a little anemic at her 1-year check-up, so I’m trying to serve her a lot of iron-rich foods.
After she was awake, a few friends came over for some pool time and lunch, which we ordered from Bolay.
She went down for her second nap really easily after all that play. When she was up, she and I ran to Target for a couple of nail tools I needed for my at-home manicure.
Followed that up with a mother-daughter date to Coldstone, which I’d been thinking about and wanting for a while!
All-in-all, a very fun and low-key weekend!
